AZF-DELETIONS
The reagent kit AZF-DELETIONS is designed for the analysis of microdeletions in the Y-chromosome (regions AZFa, AZFb and AZFc) that cause azoospermia (in 10-15% of cases) or oligozoospermia (in 5-15% of cases).
Two multiplex PCR systems contain 4 pairs of primers each, allowing to study the following Y-specific markers: sY84 (AZFa) and sY86 (AZFa), sY127 (AZFb) and sY134 (AZFb), sY254 (AZFc) and sY255 (AZFc). The genes SRY (the Y-chromosome sex-determining gene) and ZFY/X (the zinc finger gene present on both the Y and X chromosomes) are used as internal controls.
